Srinagar, January 24 (KNO) : Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik on Thursday paid tributes to slain Muhammad Hussain Hakak, Manzoor Ahmad, Abdul Jabbar Amjad, Muhammad Altaf Mir and others who were during present freedom struggle. Terming these slain as ‘real heroes of Kashmiri nation’, Malik in a statement issued to KNO said that “the struggle and sacrifices of these martyrs can never be forgotten and that Kashmiri nation is indebted to these great martyrs.” Paying tributes to Muhammad Hussain Hakak, Malik said that he was one of the best resistance lover and his struggle and sacrifices for the freedom of this nation will always be remembered. Terming the massacres at Handwara and Kupwara by Army and forces on 25th and 27th January 1990 as ‘a glaring proof of hollowness of Indian democracy’, JKLF chief said that “killing thousands of innocents can only be termed as act of savagery and these massacres are a reminder of the fact that India has acted as a brutal country for Kashmiris and suppressed the peaceful voices of Kashmiris by its military might.” Meanwhile, Malik strongly condemned the assault on photojournalists’ Wasim Indrabi, Nisar-ul-Haq, Junaid Gulzar, Mir Burhan and others at Shopian Pulwama by forces. Terming the pellet firing on these journalists as ‘an attempt to suppress the voice of media’, Malik said that “such attempts and assaults are most condemnable and heinous.” Expressing solidarity with another photojournalist Bilal Bahadur who got injured while performing his professional duty at Baramulla, JKLF chairman prayed for his speedy recovery.(KNO)
